About the company - Business Profile

Asian Energy Services Limited (AESL) is an Indian energy service provider specializing in seismic data acquisition, production facility operations, and energy infrastructure. Following its acquisition by the Oilmax Group in 2016, the company transitioned from a standalone seismic service provider to an integrated energy services platform.

Overview

AESL operates across the entire energy value chain, providing solutions in oil and gas exploration, production facilities, and material handling systems for the mineral sector. The company's core strength lies in executing complex projects in challenging terrains both in India and internationally. As of early 2026, AESL is undergoing a strategic evolution toward a capital-light business model to improve earnings predictability and recurring revenue through long-term service agreements.

Key Points

  • Key Facts: Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Mumbai, AESL is a subsidiary of Oilmax Energy Private Limited, which holds a controlling stake. The company is listed on the BSE (Scrip Code: 530355) and NSE (Symbol: ASIANENE).
  • Operations and Resources: AESL manages a diverse portfolio including 2D/3D seismic data acquisition, operation and maintenance (O&M) of production facilities, and the construction of Coal Handling Plants (CHPs). Notable assets include its recent acquisition of the Kuiper Group (UAE), which expanded its offshore service capabilities.
  • Privatization and Ownership: The management shifted to the Oilmax Group in 2016. As of late 2025, the company filed for a merger by absorption of its parent, Oilmax Energy Pvt. Ltd., to streamline corporate structure.
  • Market and Significance: AESL serves major industry players such as ONGC, Vedanta, Coal India, and Oil India. It plays a strategic role in India's energy security by providing essential services for both fossil fuel exploration and mineral infrastructure.
  • Business Model: The company is shifting from episodic project-based revenue to a recurring services-led model. It excels in integrated O&M and infrastructure projects, leveraging technical expertise to secure multi-year contracts.

    • Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹42.16 Crores (a 65% increase YoY).
    • Geographical/Segment Mix: While traditional seismic services remain a core part, the Oil & Gas segment (including O&M) and Mineral/Infrastructure (including CHP) are the primary drivers. For the nine months ended December 2025 (9MFY26), revenue reached ₹452.8 Crores.
