Festive Shift Impact: The year-on-year variance in Q2FY27 was entirely attributable to the shift in the festive calendar (Navratra festival season was in Q2 last year, whereas it falls in Q3 this year). Excluding this festive shift, Advertising Revenue and EBITDA registered positive single-digit growth on a like-to-like basis in Q2. The deferred festive revenue is expected to reflect in Q3FY27. Operational Efficiencies: Newsprint costs increased by 14% during the quarter due to geopolitical uncertainties and cost pressures. The company mitigated this impact through continuous cost optimization and disciplined inventory management. Digital Business: The company maintained a dominant position in news apps, with combined Monthly Active Users (MAUs) for Dainik Bhaskar and Divya Bhaskar apps growing nearly ninefold—from 2 million in January 2020 to approximately 18 million as of August 2026. Radio Strategy: "MY FM" launched 'Queens Carnival – Season 2' featuring Raveena Tandon, expanding its footprint across 44 cities to strengthen hyperlocal engagement with women audiences. Digital Transformation: The company accelerated digital transformation across its circulation operations through automation, digital workflows, and virtual payment solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency. Sudhir Agarwal, Managing Director, D.B. Corp, said: “We remain encouraged by the resilience of our core businesses and the strength of our established presence across markets. While below-normal monsoon conditions in parts of the country weighed on sentiment during the quarter, our deep connect with readers, trusted brands and long-standing relationships with advertisers continued to underpin our performance and reinforce the relevance of our regional franchise. With our continued focus on execution and operational efficiencies, we remain well-positioned to navigate the evolving business environment while building on our core strengths. Looking ahead, we remain positive about the opportunities ahead, with the festive season expected to support advertising momentum and broader consumption across key markets. Our strong editorial foundation, extensive regional reach and growing engagement with readers provide a solid platform for sustained growth. We will continue to focus on strengthening our market position, deepening advertiser relationships and creating sustainable, long-term value for all our stakeholders.” Result PDF
